The difference between sand blasting and sanding processes of glass bottles and glass coloring

1. Sanding process

Frosting refers to immersing the glass bottle in the prepared acidic liquid (or applying the paste containing acid) and eroding the surface of the glass bottle with strong acid, while the hydrogen fluoride ammonia in the strong acid solution causes the glass surface to form crystals. Therefore, if the frosting process is well done, the surface of the frosted glass is extremely smooth, and the hazy effect is produced by the scattering of crystals. If the surface is rough, it indicates that the acid corrodes the glass seriously, which is a manifestation of the immature craftsmanship of the sanding master. Or some of them still have no crystals (commonly known as no sand, or the glass is spotted), which also belongs to the master’s poor control of the process. This technology is difficult. The best performance of this process is that sparkling crystals appear on the glass surface, which is formed under a critical condition. The main reason is that the hydrogen fluoride ammonia is almost consumed.

2. Sand blasting process

This process is very common. It is to hit the surface of the glass bottle with the sand particles emitted by the gun at high speed, so that the glass bottle forms a fine concave convex surface, so as to achieve the effect of scattering light and make the light form a hazy feeling when passing through. The surface of the glass products produced by sandblasting process is rough. Because the glass surface is damaged, it looks like the transparent glass is white in the photosensitive process. The process difficulty is ordinary.

3. Distinction

The two processes are completely different. The cost of frosting glass bottles is higher than that of sandblasting glass bottles, and the effect mainly depends on the needs of users. Some unique glass bottles are not suitable for frosting. From the perspective of pursuing nobility, frosting should be selected. The sand blasting process can be completed in general factories, but it is not easy to do the sand blasting process well.

Frosted glass bottles are made of sand, with strong texture, but limited patterns; The sandblasting glass bottle is designed to use paper to carve the mold and then spray the pattern according to the requirements. In this way, any pattern can be engraved on the spot. The surface granularity of the sandblasting glass bottle is more delicate than that of the sandblasting glass bottle.
